Why the same vehicle can have different stats
A vehicle type describes possible modules and base characteristics. A configured garage vehicle adds the selected modules, crew, equipment and progression choices. A battle entity adds another context: the current world state. These representations answer different questions, so a type identifier alone cannot describe one complete set of effective statistics.
Compare vehicles using the same loadout and calculation context. A garage characteristic is a configured estimate; it does not by itself establish the value during a battle with damaged modules or temporary mechanic effects.
Crew and equipment effects are composed in stages
The client parameter pipeline combines descriptor values, vehicle factors and skill-specific calculations. An equipment or progression effect may already be reflected in the input descriptor or aggregated factors. Multiplying it again produces a plausible but incorrect result.
Trace the selected VehicleParams property and its helper calls before interpreting a bonus. Conditional skill calculations also have separate situational paths. A perk's existence in the catalogue does not establish that its effect is currently active.
Displayed units can differ from stored units
Engine component power is stored in watts, while VehicleParams.enginePower exposes horsepower. A conversion appropriate for a component field is therefore wrong when applied again to that garage property. The parameter layer also exposes configured speed limits; these are limits, not a prediction of the speed reached on every terrain or slope.
Keep the getter, units, configuration and conditions beside a value when exporting or comparing it.
Game files and evidence
These links follow the public repository's default branch. Search each file for the symbols below. They establish client-side calculations and state handling; they do not verify server configuration or live behavior.
| Game file | Symbols to inspect | What it establishes |
|---|---|---|
| gui/shared/items_parameters/params.py | VehicleParams; enginePower; speedLimits | Configured characteristic calculations and display units. |
| gui/shared/gui_items/Vehicle.py | Vehicle | Garage item construction, crew and configuration ownership. |
